MindWell offers a comprehensive program geared toward teaching the fundamentals of culturally informed, research-based psychotherapy to students in clinical and counseling psychology, social work, and mental health counseling as well as for early career clinicians. We believe the potential to grow as a therapist is an ongoing endeavor. The foundation of our training program is rooted in mentorship: providing supportive relationships that help you identify and develop the skills necessary to become an effective therapist while having a balanced, sustainable life. 

For more senior therapists we offer regular clinical supervision and the opportunity to join our training team and mentor the next generation of therapists.

Postdoctoral & Externship Students in Psychology, Social Work, and Mental Health Counseling

MindWell offers a year-long Externship and Post-Doctoral Fellowship opportunity for students in clinical and counseling psychology as well as social work and mental health counseling. Externs and Postdocs are supervised by experts in research-based care and trained in the art of culturally informed, effective intervention, and measurement-based care. In addition, MindWell provides exposure to the business and organizational skills that are often overlooked in training programs (how to supervise others, how to navigate insurance, create policies and procedures in clinical settings, and how diversity and inclusion initiatives can be incorporated in outpatient settings). At MindWell, we’re committed to the comprehensive training of the next generation of mental health professionals.

  • We encourage you to gain additional skills to hone your practice. Use the $1,000 per year to offset the costs of licensure, CEU, professional manuals/books, etc.

  • We know that EPPP prep can be time-consuming. Thus, we offer all post-docs dedicated prep time for the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP)

  • MindWell hosts a monthly optional DEI book club to increase awareness and foster discussion around issues experienced by BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other diverse populations.

  • Weekly supervision for 1-2 hours per week from your colleagues to gain a new perspective and obtain help with your more challenging cases.

  • We want you to focus on your practice, not the admin work. Thus, we do 100% of the admin functions of client management, case management, billing, scheduling, etc. for you.

  • Our monthly didactic series helps clinicians remain up to date on the latest in the field.

  • We offer a monthly professional development didactic series for our post-doctoral fellows.
