Dr. Rachel Middendorf (she/her) is a clinical psychologist completing her post-doctoral fellowship at MindWell. She specializes in providing evidence-based therapy to children, adolescents, and emerging adults. Dr. Middendorf has extensive training and experience working with children and families who are navigating trauma, anxiety, LGBTQIA+ identities, and developmental differences such as autism, ADHD, and learning differences. In addition, Dr. Middendorf has specialized training and expertise in working with survivors of child abuse, interpersonal violence, and other complex traumas.
Dr. Middendorf takes a collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach to therapy. She priorities creating a safe and authentic therapeutic relationship with her clients and works collaboratively with clients and families to choose an approach that meets their unique goals and needs. Some of the therapeutic methods Dr. Middendorf uses include trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and attachment theory.
In her free time, Dr. Middendorf enjoys practicing yoga, spending time with friends and family, traveling, and being outdoors.
